Laughter is Universal
Alright, let me be the first to admit it… it was a stressful week at MLN central and we were thrown some very unexpected and dreadful wrenches. One of the network’s writers sent me a funny link and I just died laughing. It made me smile and feel so happy. It’s true what science says–laughter is contagious. Laughter is a social experience that helps us communicate and express our emotions with each other.
Laughter Therapy
On average, an adult laughs 17 times a day. It’s an uncontrollable and complex response that’s been proven to help our body fight diseases. In a University of Maryland study, researchers found that patients who laughed after watching funny, comedic videos had dilated arteries and blood pressure that went down.
