Life on the Farm at Oak Haven

Here at Oak Haven, the garden vegetables have been canned and frozen for this year and the garden has been plowed under, signaling the end of growing season. The leaves are beginning to change from their deep velvet green of summer to their various colors of fall. We are about to wean our foals from their mothers. Weaning babies from their mamas is part of farm ritual of life but I never get used to it after 25 years. As the days get darker earlier, I have a lingering sadness of the loss of the beauty of summer. Everything in nature seems as if it is contracting, slowing and beginning to rest. As the temperatures begin to cool we begin to paint the 10 miles of board fence surrounding the horse farm this fall. So grab a paint brush and join us as we mend and paint fences.

As the temperatures begin to cool we begin mending fences, both literally and figuratively. We mend and paint the 10 miles of board fence surrounding the horse farm at Oak Haven this fall and take an introspective look at our relationships. So, join us as we mend and paint fences.
