Just Two Daily Drinks Increases Your Risk of Death

A new study from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis reveals drinking a daily glass of wine may not be so healthy. The researchers analyzed data from more than 400,000 people ages 18 to 85. Their research found that consuming one to two drinks four or more times per week, an amount deemed healthy by current guidelines, increases the risk of premature death by 20 percent, compared with drinking three times a week or less. The increased risk of death was consistent across age groups.

Previous studies had shown having one or two drinks per day, or wine, was okay and could even be healthy but this very large study shows even the light daily drinkers mortality risk in increased. We used to think that one to two drinks, four days per week was protective against cardiovascular disease but no more. Any drinking has negative effects for cancer.
